About Letters Live

Letters Live returns to The Town Hall in Midtown, Manhattan, for a run of three completely unique back-to-back shows on the May 31, June 1 and June 2, 2025, each enchanting New Yorkers with the enduring power of literary correspondence. Every Letters Live performance is a one-of-a-kind experience, with a different array of incredible performers reading remarkable letters written over the centuries and from around the world, authored by luminaries as varied as David Bowie to Charlotte Brontë, Che Guevara to Mohandas Gandhi.

Across the three nights, audiences will experience three entirely different shows with Laura Linney and Emmy and Tony Award-winning actor Nathan Lane leading the charge for opening night on May 31, while Emily Mortimer and Sam Nivola will kick things off June 1. Closing night will see Bryan Cranston and Ariana DeBose take to the stage on June 2. In true Letters Live style, the rest of the celebrity line-ups for each show - consisting of approximately 10 performers, including musical acts - will remain a closely guarded secret until the curtain goes up. The result is a glorious event like no other and a truly unforgettable journey through time that will one moment have you roaring with laughter, and the next moved to tears.

The performers’ identities will remain a closely guarded secret until the moment they take to the stage. Previous New York shows have welcomed talent including Lawrence Fishburne, Patti Smith, Peter Dinklage, Cynthia Erivo, Katie Holmes, Benedict Cumberbatch and Christian Slater, just to name a few.
